Courage

Earlier this year, I resolved to write one small article a month in 2022. This month, I wanted to write about courage — one of the rarest human qualities.

My plan was to write about the courage of worker bees who fulfill their obligation of dissent by conducting themselves honestly, sometimes antagonizing powerful executives and risking career growth or their jobs.

Or to write about the courage of entrepreneurs, risking stability, peace, and reputation to bring an all consuming idea to life.

But with what’s going on in Ukraine, the world today needs other forms of courage. Courage of disobedience. Courage in the battlefield.

I am inspired by the courage of Russian tennis players, football stars, writers, film makers calling for an end to the war, and the courage of civilians protesting in Russia.

I am inspired by the courage of Ukrainian leaders, soldiers, volunteers who are resisting the invasion, fighting for their democracy, their home & their loved ones. My heart goes out to them.

They deserve our solidarity. I encourage you to pick a not-for-profit of your choice and send help to Ukraine. Here’s one useful article with a list of charities to get you started.
